With the #HijaAko movement, more and more individuals had the courage to speak up regarding their experiences with sexual violence and harassment. Growing up in a society that perpetuates victim-blaming, there is an utmost need to carry and lead these individuals to a place where it is safe for them to heal, a place where their clothing is never in question, a place where their voices will be heard, a place for them to move forward from the hole this experiences put them in.
Sulong means to move forward, go forward, and push forward. This project aims to connect the victim-survivors of sexual violence and harassment to legal professionals for pro bono legal advice. We aim to be the push these survivors will be needing, whether it requires big or small efforts, for them to move forward towards a place of safety. To help victims understand the situation better in terms of legal/psychosocial matters, group and private consultations will be made available to the victims for free, including other services as necessary.
