About Us
Our Story
Founded on June 19, 2019, Amarela was started with the idea that the topic of sex, birth control, and reproductive health should be talked about and tackled in the Philippines more. Amarela started off with only six members, all of whom were truly passionate about the advocacy and what Amarela could stand for.

Amarela is derived from the Cebuano word "amarilyo", meaning yellow, which is the color of hope and femininity. For us, this translates to our organization being a pillar of hope for the future of women in the Philippines. This isn't just limited to their sexual and reproductive health, but for women's rights and empowerment as a whole.
Mission
Our mission is to handle programs that will help improve the sexual and reproductive healthcare system and the sexual education program in the Philippines.
Vision
Amarela aims to make sex education and healthcare more accessible to the masses and we want to help people think appropriately when it comes to sexual topics and matters.
Our Advocacies
Women's Reproductive Health
Amarela wants to help women access better and safer birth control, menstrual products, STD testing, medicines, and the like.
Sexual Education
We want to help educate the youth on different aspects of sexual education and teach them how to take care of themselves and their bodies.
Women's Healthcare Rights
Amarela wants to help every Filipino achieve these, so we must advocate to the government how much we need these things. We need to push for different laws and bills that will help make these things not just more accessible, but better.
